BREAK!!!!
By admin | August 14, 2008
Good News for some, Bad news for others.
Going to take about 3 week break with little to zero news threads on HWL.com
Several good and bad things going on right now that I need to address on one hand and on the other hand enjoy!!! I still will be helping out with TTF on some upcoming posts and will of course be chatting and insulting people during the week. Emails will still be answered and so will the phone.
I will be back soon and try to re-gain the bottom dwelling level HWL has achieved over the past 6 months.
I wish everyone the best….. See ya soon.

Press Release: CaJohn’s and Engine House 13 Limited Ed. Hot Sauce Collectibles
By admin | July 24, 2008
HWL.com is honored to have recieved this Press release from CaJohn. I must say it made my day.
Talking with John earlier this week about the Artwork and bottles he replied that the pictures do not show the true beauty of these little jems. Looking forward to seeing them in person next week.
Hot sauce has come a long way since the battlefields in Korea, where it was used primarily to disguise the horrid taste of rations. Today, hot food fanatics assemble in droves around the country, at world-class festivals and contests, in search of the perfect fiery food. Columbus’ own John Hard “CaJohn” leads this movement and has spent the last eleven years perfecting America’s most awarded line of hot sauces and salsas marketed by his company CaJohns Fiery Foods.

This year, CaJohn partnered up with Mike Martin, owner and operator of Engine House 13, a rock poster and design studio specializing in screen-printed limited edition concert posters and handbills. Martin has worked with many of the Rock & Roll World’s biggest names, and his corporate clients include Jagermeister, Adidas, Coors & Mopar. Martin’s company sells the original poster art he creates around the world. As expected, their work ethic and creativity caught on fire.
To celebrate their collaboration, they will be debuting their signature line of limited edition Engine House 13 Brand hot sauces August 2-3 during the Weekend of Fire at Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield, Ohio. The kicker: each CaJohns tour event will offer an original signed and numbered poster celebrating the event. Good luck finding one! The second poster launch is set for ZestFest 2008 in Ft. Worth from September 5-7.
200 signed and numbered 6-bottle sets featuring Classic Martin artwork will come with original handbills of the posters that represent each show. An additional 1000 numbered 3-pack sets will come with randomly assigned collectable memorabilia from both Martin and Hard.
The posters, (200 signed & numbered) will be available at events where CaJohn exhibits. This year’s tour includes: Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire, ZestFest, Houston Hot Sauce Festival and the National Fiery Foods Show. Posters and bottle sets may be purchased during and after the shows, as well as on www.cajohns.com and www.enginehouse13.com (no pre-sales).
If this were not enough to hold your breath, CaJohns will be launching a limited edition Martin label makeover of Scorch, one of the world’s hottest natural pepper sauces. Furthermore, look for something extra special this February at Martin and Hard’s hometown Fiery Food Festival! Every time a new set is introduced, Martin will be revamping an existing CaJohns hot sauce label. 1800 of each of these will be numbered and signed.
Engine House 13 and CaJohns are sure to set the fiery food world ablaze!!!!
Previous related article from TTF can be found HERE
Also visit www.flavorandfire.com for the latest information regarding the goings on at CaJohn’s Fiery Foods
I would also like to thank TC for letting me be a pirate and steal his lay-out.

HSB “RIP”
By admin | July 18, 2008
Well we all know there is no love lose between me and the HSB!!!
With that being said I would like to address a few issue’s and comments posted on a 30 day old thread (The only I might add that has been posted in 39 days) and since this is my site, I can do what ever I want.
1) To address my first issue: Comments about and I quote: there must be issue’s in Nick’s life and it’s his site so why do you care and how does effect you.
Well to answer that there are several people who advertise on the HSB. At this point there are 3 Buttons, 6 Square ads, 2 Vertical Banners and 1 Vertical Skyscraper. to my calculation’s HSB has shorted Advetisers by at least 2 months (Please check my short bus math) this equals $1740.00 Now I know most people from the HSB will say it’s not the Quantity of posts its the Quality….. I’ll let you answer the question if you fill Advertisers have recieved there moneys worth for the past few months.
Here is the Advertising info. straight from the HSB:
Advertising on the HSB?
Reach Thousands of Chileheads!
Why?
The HotSauceBlog.com is the leading source of unbiased product reviews and news - all geared towards your target market. Readers of the HSB can interact with each post, building repeat visits and visitor loyalty. In fact, over 30% of the visitors are return viewers - and these guys are the core of the hot sauce industry. Not only is the HSB read by consumers, but industry leaders as well. More information on HSB stats is available here. All the traffic (5,000+ visits a day) comes from natural search or direct access (folks who have bookmarked or directly type in the web address).
How It Works:
Ad units on HotSauceBlog.com are not rotated, so if you buy a unit for 3 months - you get 100% share of that space for those 3 months. Plus, each ad on the HSB appears on every page of the website. One or more pages are put up each day and the HSB currently has over 2,000 pages.

Now HWL.com is a free advertising site, so I owe people nothing. I don’t want to sound calus but if you are an advirtiser, lurker, commentor or asshole like me I think you deserve a answer from either Nick or his Board on the status of the HSB…… In my book I could careless, but to the people who still care you should treat this as a slap in your face for the loyality you have shown Nick and the HSB over the past few years. My thanks go out to Nick because if it wasn’t for his shady and back stabbing ways this site would have never been Created. So for that I say THANK YOU.
Tick Tock, Tick Tock
